Introduction to WHY I write

My first blog post - eeeek!

So I'm going to try this blogging thing out. Firstly, I had to watch multiple YouTube videos to even start. Literally googled how to start blogging! What does blogging even mean?

Blog: Short for Web log, a blog is a Web page that serves as a publicly accessible personal journal for an individual. Typically updated daily, blogs often reflect the personality of the author. blogger: A person who blogs. blogging: The act of writing or updating your blog.

Ahhhhh!!! Another quick google search got me educated. How did we live before google?

Ok, so be warned my tech skills are lacking somewhat but I've grown fond of writing, you know expressing my thoughts and my weird self through words. It feels soothing and I enjoy trying to be creative surprisingly in this chapter of my life.

I've received great feedback on my writing (I hope they weren't fibbing) which really shocked me, so here goes nothing (thanks random reviews)
Just be warned you won't be experiencing a professional style of writing but who knows what the future holds. I'm sure (and hope) I will get better over time, if not at least I tried and made someone laugh.

I certainly won't be "blogging" daily, but I will try to incorporate my hippy self into the words, teach from my pain, share my joy, and most importantly spread hope. We so need it these days.
What's that saying "be brave enough to be bad at something new" yes that's it, well sometimes I'm far too brave for my own good!

I'm also kinda sure not many will read this blog so what do I actually have to lose?

If you asked me a few years ago if I was a creative person, I would have replied "I have the same amount of creativity as a carrot" Adult colouring in books intimidated me.
That was before I started my "inner work" The last 7-year's dedication to inner work, meaning self-development and healing has changed my life. It can do the same for you.

That's why I'm here, to be honest. To help you. To encourage you. To connect.
I will never stop learning and I hope the same for you.
Let's get unstuck and forget what everyone else is doing.
Let's start where we are with what we have.
Let's change, let's grow, together.
How does that sound?

So why "The vibration of high hopes" as a title?
Because high hopes are all I had before I had access to self-development.

They got me through the severe childhood trauma of living among violence and substance abuse, helped me overcome 15 years of anxiety, bravely face my father's suicide, and many other big shifts in my life.

High hopes have been by my side since I can remember. They have also led me on incredible adventures, from solo DIY Eat Pray Love travels, living in 5 different cities in 5 years, and recently immigrating to the UK during the pandemic with only my bags and big dreams.

I've managed to pursue my passions, uncover new skills, and live life to the fullest.
I'm here to create my personal version of success.
Will you join me?

I am now having to deploy these high-hope warriors again as I return to my roots, in South Africa and face my mother's diagnosis.
To be honest I feel scared and sad. Another rapid change and uprooting is unsettling but I know this is where the biggest transformations occur.
Outside of that soft, warm, safe, fuzzy zone.

Being in service of others is what soothes me, I learned many years ago that the helpers high, known in the neuroscience world as the good feeling we get from helping others is my best friend.

Helpers High by Dr David R Hamilton read about it here if you are unfamiliar with this happiness hack.

I hope by sharing my story it may encourage you onto your own path of healing and self-development so that you can face all and still go after your adventurous dreams.
I have so much belief in all humans.

My clear intentions for this space

I want my words to uplift you.

I want my words to resonate and be useful in your world if you are facing any hard things.

I want my words to provide you with aha moments and teach you new ways to transform.

I want my words to encourage you to accept past and present circumstances but rise above them.

I want my words to inspire you to take control of your life and create a better future for yourself.

If I can sit behind this laptop, feeling peaceful and happy most of the time you can believe this is possible for you too.
I've suffered plenty, and things have been hard but I've also been awakened to the beauty, kindness and, guidance there is available to us in this world.

Current life

I now live a joyful life, grounded in kindness and gratitude. I'm dedicated to a high-vibrational way of being while serving humanity.

I've studied Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and most recently qualified as a success coach through Jay Shetty  Certification School. Rounding off my holistic mind body soul approach to life.

I now live in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom but the African spirit of Ubuntu still runs from my heart through my veins.

I practice meditation daily and yoga is my way of life so you can expect a bit of spiritual spice, manifestation magic, sober living stories, and plenty of human behavioural science to back the content I produce.

So here is to creating "The vibration of high hopes" together.
It's going to be an expansive ride!

All my love & light
